Much more than an architectural practice

We are proud of the creative, social and passionate community that makes Bond
Bryan a great place to work. We recognise the importance of providing not only
an energising and rewarding environment but also a supportive one, which
reflects the needs of individuals and their families too.

We share design news, hold regular internal presentations, discussions and
debates, and also organise regular social events. Our collective enthusiasm,
creative thinking, diversity and passion for design underpin our long-term
success. Therefore, we strive to provide a positive and rewarding experience
through a friendly, supportive and inclusive working environment.

Why work with us?

Bond Bryan Digital could be a great fit if you believe in the digital principles we
follow:

Collaboration

BIM is really a combination of people, process and technology but the key to making our projects work best is “people”. We work with our clients and other team members to help them through process and make the most of digital workflows. Of course, we also hope to learn from others we work with!

OpenBIM

We believe in processes built around open standards – allowing all parties to use the software of their choice. So we use formats such as IFC (Industry Foundation Classes), COBie (Construction-Operations Building Information Exchange) and BCF (BIM Collaboration Format) to exchange models, data and issues between technology solutions.

Quality

At the heart of any BIM process is data, which must be structured, reliable and reusable. We build extensive information-checking rules and robust processes to create the best quality models and data possible, so that others can use it for quantification and facilities management.

Research & Development

We are always looking for new, smarter ways to deliver better information. So we carry out extensive research to better understand the technology we use and the information flow between technologies.

Software

We like to understand our tools – what works and what doesn’t work – so we can create optimised processes for the technology on our projects. And we always report issues back to all vendors, so that technology can be continually improved.

Standards

Standards are the basis on which we build automated and intelligent approaches. Our processes are all aligned with national and international standards and we help shape these through our involvement in the British Standards Institution (BSI) B/555 Committee (Construction Design, Modelling and Data Exchange).

Why we’re a good digital employer

Bond Bryan Digital has a long history related to Building Information Modelling (BIM). But we have evolved from simply 3D models to thinking about all information, whether it comes from a model or not. We have also always believed that information should be shared using open standards and we have a long commitment to driving our approach forward using these standards. Whilst our fee income is driven by real life projects, we also want to be able to contribute to evolution of the approach to information management across the whole sector. This supports our vision of Better Information Management (BIM).

Bond Bryan Digital is driven by our whole team who bring different ideas to how we should develop our approach and deliver projects for our clients. Rob Jackson (Director) though leads Bond Bryan Digital (as part of the wider BuildData group) with the support of all team members but particularly Emma Hooper (Associate Director). Both Rob and Emma are recognised leaders in the application of BIM and information management and have recently been involved in contributions to the UK BIM Framework.

When we established Bond Bryan Digital, we wanted the brand to be focussed
on a high-quality service. The individuals in our team bring different backgrounds and skills but it is important to listen to their ideas and encourage them to explore testing out these ideas. We all have specialist areas of expertise and we try to allow individuals to lead in these areas, but we all contribute and support each other. At the same time, we have a healthy environment to challenge each other and to speak openly about different approaches and ideas.

This environment supports the right culture to deliver high quality information for all our projects as well as contributing to wider industry initiatives

Bond Bryan Digital has always been keen to reward those who contribute to the ongoing success of the business. Bond Bryan Digital want to attract the best people and that means providing appropriate reward for excellent work. We have a formal appraisal process to support ongoing career development which is fully documented on our company platform. At the same time, we encourage all staff to talk openly about their ambitions on an ongoing basis in more informal one to one meetings. This means we can work together to achieve your
ambitions over a period of time and support you to get to where you want to be.

However, we recognise that individuals are not all driven by the same things and some may be less focussed on career progression but still doing an excellent job. We try to encourage everyone to push forward and improve year on year within their specific roles whatever their personal ambitions.

During the pandemic we have realised the need to support each other more than at any other time. This means that even where we are remote, we are all just a phone call away and we make a point of regularly formally catching up once a week as a team. But also, we have lots of informal catch-ups to keep in touch.

Beyond the pandemic we will have a mix of office and home working. We also support individuals to attend industry events whether as a participant or as a speaker. This includes both national and international events where appropriate. We also have social events with the wider Bond Bryan and BuildData group teams which include everything from go-karting to pub quizzes.

There are also other significant company events that are arranged throughout the year and we have a monthly event to keep staff up to date with practice and project news.
